There are so many factors when it comes to breakouts, whether it be hormones, diet, skincare, or even the weather. The foods we put inside of our body can play a huge role in acne and sudden breakouts BUT it can also play a huge role in clearing up your skin.
It’s important to remember inflammatory foods are a huge factor when it comes to causing breakouts and can continuously aggravate your skin.
These foods include:
-Refined grains (white rice, white bread, pasta, and cereal)
-Soda and other sweet drinks
-Heavily processed foods
While there are a lot of foods to avoid, there are quite a few to eat to help keep your skin clear and get rid of active breakouts. Mint and chrysanthemum tea help to reduce inflammation and soothe irritated skin. Fermented foods that have probiotic benefits are also great choices. Kimchi, kombucha, sauerkraut, and cultured non-dairy yogurts are examples of probiotic foods.
Most importantly- don’t forget to be drinking WATER! Water keeps your body hydrated and refreshed. It helps maintain your skin's elasticity.
