What You Should Eat Before/During/After A Workout

In order to make the most of your workout, I want to share some helpful tips on what you should eat before, during, and after a workout. Fueling your body correctly and drinking a lot of water are KEY! See below for what I recommend:

 2 hours before:

-Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

-Eat healthy carbs such as oatmeal, whole grain pasta, or brown rice (depending on the time of day you are working out)

-Load up on fruits + veggies

-Avoid saturated fats and a ton of protein because this type of fuel digests slower in your stomach

 During:

-Drink lots of water! This helps keep you hydrated and flushes everything out.

-If your workout is an hour or less, no need to eat BUT if you are working out longer grab a banana/yogurt or low cal protein bar.

 After:

-Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! You can never have enough water, especially after a workout.

-Carbs are the main fuel for your muscles during a workout. In the 20-60 minutes after your workout, your muscles can store carbohydrates and protein as energy and help in recovery.

-A high protein meal after an intense workout will help repair + grow muscles!

Everyone’s body is different, so learn what works best for you and ENJOIE the results!
